Building artists as full worlds — with taste, discipline, and long-term leverage.

LIGHTWORK is a selective LA-based artist development company + label + creative studio. We don’t chase moments — we build durable identity, narrative, visuals, and sound that compound into catalog, culture, and optionality.

Founder profile

What I optimize for.

Role

Founder/CEO of LIGHTWORK. I operate as strategist + creative director — aligning sound, visual language, narrative, collaborators, and rollout so the project reads as one coherent world.

Philosophy

  • Taste is a filter. It creates clarity, not noise.
  • Worldbuilding beats content. Identity + meaning compounds.
  • Leverage over activity. Ship fewer, sharper moves.
  • Longevity > hype. Build catalog value and optionality.

LIGHTWORK

Artist development as a creative engine.

What it is

An independent artist development company + label + creative studio. We invest deeply in a small number of conviction-led projects — shaping the full stack: music, identity, narrative, visuals, and strategy.

How it differs

  • Not a volume label — a flagship studio.
  • Development-first: world coherence before scale.
  • In-house creation + tight collaborator network.
  • Built to partner with larger infrastructure without losing autonomy.

Projects

Current worlds in motion.

Modern American rock · world-first

Tommy Turbo

World thesis: Tommy Turbo is a modern American rock project built around the idea that rock and roll should feel dangerous, mythic, and emotionally honest again. It pulls from the lineage of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty while translating that spirit into a contemporary sonic language. The world centers on working class romanticism, cultural tension, and the search for meaning in modern America — heartland rock and Americana storytelling with modern production that feels timeless rather than nostalgic.

Rollout notes: Introduce gradually through two standalone singles that signal a shift in sound and identity without over-explaining. These releases act as the opening chapter before a larger EP arrives. Visuals lean cinematic and character-driven, presenting Tommy not just as a singer but as a mythic figure wandering through modern American landscapes.

Cinematic alt-rock · mystery + community

OUR BODIES

World thesis: OUR BODIES is a cinematic alternative rock project built around mystery, emotional intensity, and digital age mythology. The identity blurs the line between artist and narrative, inviting fans to uncover meaning through cryptic visuals, coded messaging, and layered storytelling. Sonically it draws from the energy of My Chemical Romance, The 1975, and Twenty One Pilots while building a darker, more surreal aesthetic — designed to feel like a secret society forming in real time.

Rollout notes: Intrigue and discovery first: short-form video, cryptic imagery, and coded fan interaction slowly reveal pieces of the narrative. Early releases are paired with visual fragments that hint at a larger story. Community building (Discord + fan decoding) turns listeners into participants.

Country storytelling · barroom reflection

Chuckie Brown

World thesis: Chuckie Brown lives between country storytelling, rock honesty, and late-night barroom reflection. Mid-tempo songs that feel like conversations between a man and his past — raw but intentional — written to survive rather than chase trends. This is driving at night, remembering mistakes, and finding quiet redemption in small moments.

Rollout notes: A deliberate testing ground. Releases from the Devils EP and standalone singles have been used to experiment with marketing frameworks, audience engagement, and release pacing — learnings that roll up into larger flagship projects.

Children’s storytelling · warm + musically rich

Little Wylder

World thesis: Little Wylder is a children’s storytelling and music project inspired by becoming a father. The goal is content that’s imaginative, emotionally warm, and musically rich — not disposable. Songs and stories parents enjoy as much as their kids. The world is built around curiosity, kindness, adventure, and the quiet magic of childhood discovery.

Rollout notes: Start with modern nursery rhymes, illustrated storybooks, and visual storytelling that feels warm and timeless. Familiar structures evolve into modern lyrical narratives. Over time it can expand into books, animation, and family-oriented storytelling across formats.

Sync catalog · cinematic utility

LIGHTWORK Sync Project — Short Stop

World thesis: Short Stop is a sync-focused music project designed to create cinematic, emotionally charged tracks for film, television, and advertising. The goal is a catalog that captures tension, triumph, nostalgia, and drama with moments editors can immediately visualize in-scene — strong hooks, memorable musical turns, and versatile emotional tone.

Rollout notes: Tracks are released and pitched strategically to libraries and supervisors. The catalog grows steadily with music built for placement across sports media, television, trailers, and advertising.

Pipeline · private until inevitable

Future development

LIGHTWORK maintains a small pipeline of emerging artist projects in early development. These stay private until the creative identity and musical direction are fully formed — artists should enter the world with clarity and conviction, not prematurely.
